The permanent campaign

A couple of months ago Homeland security director Napolitano warned that due to our new African American president and other factors , the country faced greater risks of left and right wing extremeist activity. Conservatives demanded an apology and some called for her resignation.
Consequently , we have had 3 politically motivated murders in the last 2 months. Should she apologize for being right?
If the Bush administration had practiced such due diligence when they entered office as opposed to their own self serving policies, maybe we could have avoided 9-11.

  1. Danny, I see you haven't change. You call it as you see it. That's what I've always appreciated about your character. You are correct in your assessment. The study is true and the most current information from other entities (FBI, Southern Poverty Law Center, etc.) proves this to be correct. We are living in a time and society to where 'stone' throwing is not only a reality, but acceptable. I believe with our current president that we will see a LOT of things bubble to the surface! I hope your blog catches on and people come to realize that when a man has advanced diabetes and is about to lose both his legs that he doesn't care if you're white, black, Republican or Democrat. . . he simply wants help and wants it now! The US was and still is in diabetic shock and we have to allow our president to do that best he can to solve many of the inherited issues.

  2. Anytime there's a "First" in anything, expect civil unrest. Obama was elected because he received enough votes, so I'll pray for his success. But I hate his policies. You can't tax & spend your way out of a Depression. It's never been done in American history.

Terrorist "chatter" tells us that Al Queda is close to being able to sneak in weapons of mass destruction through the same tunnels used by illegal Mexican aliens. (Missing Soviet "suitcase nukes? Backpacks full of anthrax or other biological weapons?) That means upon entering the country, they'll travel right through your backyard. Or mine. The Bush that you hate so much kept this country SAFE for over 7 years...No attacks on American soil since 9/11/01. That's how the history books will remember him.

Political murders? Are you kidding me? What about all the people killed in the name of religion? In the name of Allah? You mention 9/11, yet that was planned (and made possible) during the Clinton era...

Obama was elected by default. For some it was either "the lesser of two evils" OR they fell for his "Hope" and "Change" campaign. Yet most couldn't have told you ONE THING he stood for on Election Day. Most still can't. If he puts all of his "programs" in place, your grandchildren will still be paying the bill. He's not qualified to run a large corporation, much less the most powerful nation in the world.

He's an eloquent speaker and I have no doubt he's an intelligent man. Ever see him speak candidly, without a tele-prompter? He responds like a kid whose "dog ate his homework". I believe in the separation of Church and State, but I'm curious why he quotes The Qur’an twice as often as he quotes The Bible?

My sainted 72 year-old mother, a Yellow-Dog Democrat, called him the most dangerous man to lead our country in her lifetime. I just nodded, hiding an "I told you so" grin. If you're not a liberal when you're young, you have no heart. If you're still a liberal at our age, you've lost your mind.

I left you something over on Facebook. (Car related.) I'm really glad I found you, Danny. I have a feeling that we're going to end up "agreeing to disagree" politically though, and that's fine by me. It doesn't define us. We need better choices and an overhaul of the system. Maybe this administration will either get that ball rolling, or at worst, make people even more aware of that. Take care. tb.

  4. Tim my old dear friend you are so right. Our political views do not define us. Poor representation by our elected officials is not our fault. I was not politically active until the most recent election. It was the failed leadership of the previous admin that led me to my current views.to continue to enable the republicans to lead us was akin to letting the child molester babysit the kids. Obama will get no slack from me should he fail or mislead us. I am an equal oppurtunity asshole. When I have more time I will post a letter i sent to my elected reps regarding this. My home puter is 28k dial up. I could yell it better.
