New revelations,(no pun intended) were released this week about Republican Senator John Ensign's affair.Apparently his family handed over $96,000" in gifts" to the mistress and her husband. These gifts were in $12,000 increments to avoid I.R.S. taxes. According to Ensign , Sen. Cobourne from Oklahoma encourage him to send millions of dollars to encourage the mistress to not go public.
It also exposed a relationship to "The Family" The Family is a fundamentalist religeous organization that operates "C Street" C Sstreet is a residence in Washington DC that provides housing for 7 Congressmen (including Ensign and Bobourne) at present. Disgraced Govoner Mark Sanford also cited a relationship to The Family and C Street during his recent nauseating confession of his hypochrisy.
The Family is so extreme in "their" interpretation of Christianity as to make Jerry Falwell and Hagee appear as Flame throwing athiest gay lovers. I saw a taped sermon and the despot's are territfying.Their position is that poeple of wealth and power were chosen by God to aquire wealth through power and power through wealth and any action or immoral transgression is acceptable. Murder, genocide or any other means that justifies the end. They endorse the actions of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and the like and state that these monsters were to be emulated and methods they used deployed because they were willing to go to any length to reach their objectives. Their philosophy and objectives are totally immoral and wholly un-Christian. I'm not a Christian but I recognize this.
So what? They are a bunch of fundamentalists who believe the aquisition of wealth through power and vice versa reached by any means necessary is acceptable. The believe the wealthy and powerful are chosen by God to to do as the will simply because the are participants who participate.
Here is the problem. This secret society exercises an unknown quantity of influence on 7 Congressman and at least 1 disgraced Govorner. The Disgraced Governor was the Chairman of the Republican Governer's Association. John Ensign was the Chairman of the Republican Senate Policy Commision.
It is safe to assume that Extreme religious fundamentalist exercize some level of influence over lawmakers who control policy in this country. This fundamentalist organization states that any action taken by these wealthy and powerful men is justifiable because God has chosen them.
Over the years I have wondered how Republican politicians could act as they have, Lies to enter an unjust war leading to the deaths of 100,000's No bid contracts to Company formerly owned by Vice President. Domestic spying, Torture. The wealthy elite destroying our financial system and getting bailouts because they were to big to fail, etc, etc.
It all makes sense now. Immoral actions are easy when God says it O.K.

"West of the Rockies, you're ON the air!" You make Art Bell sound sane with your conspiratorial view of anything not bearing the "Cetified Liberal" label. Jimbo and I think you need a week with Ted Nugent.
ReplyDeleteDanny, stop eating the cheese. What about Pelosi, the biggest hypocrite in Washington, spending $56,000 per WEEK in jet fuel to fly from D.C. to her home in San Fran? (Since she only works 3 days a week...) Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank are three of the most powerful people in Washington and if brains were dynamite they couldn't blow their collective noses. Clean up your own "house" before you start worrying about somebody elses.
Unjust war? Ask the soldiers if it was "unjust"? At least tell both sides of the story. Like MORE U.S. Armed Forces personnel died during the Clinton administration, than during wartime under George W. Bush. Tell us in your wisdom how it would have been possible to start pulling U.S. troops out of Iraqi cities, IF your party would have gotten its way and the surge called off??? If you're going to comment on the affairs in Washington, at least be informed and look at it from all sides. You're dangerous, because you either believe the bile you spew or you don't have all the facts, (just the ones that prove your points). Start thinking for yourself, not how the furthest "left" of the Demcratic party tells you to think. Dammit Danny, the fucking Dems are no better than the GOP. Neither party has your best interest at heart. ALL any of them care about are their personal agendas, getting re-elected and bringing the bacon home to their constituents. Read some Thomas Jefferson...or Teddy Roosevelt...This is as far away from what they had in mind for America as we've ever been AND it's not just one party peeing in the pool.
Lets hit this point by point.
ReplyDeletePelosi is bound by law to use govornment transportation to travel back to her district. It is mandated due to security concerns after 9-11.
It is not up to the soldiers to decide if it is just or not. their sole duty is to follow orders. They will always act with more honor than those who lead them.
The truth is Bush cooked the intelligence, conned congress and the poeple into going to war with country that albeit was corrupt and dangerous posed no immediate threat to us.Bush did this to enrich the wallets of his supporters, Halliburton, Blackwater. Big oil. The Carlisle group, etc. and one up Poppy Bush. The question of the surge is mute. We should never have been there.
As I mentioned in the blog I saw this sermon. These guys are lunatics. My opinion is based on first hand experience. I dont read forwards. I listen to what is said and form my own opinion.
None of my blogs are in favor of dems.Simply against those I feel who led this country to it's current delima. The truth is the dems are as they have been labeled. Too indecisive to make the difficult decisions to progress this country's agenda. They are so worried about political correctness and angering the special interest they can't even Shit without asking if it's okay. But, they are not the Entitled by God Lunatics that preceeded them though. I will take inept or ineffective over depotic and tyrannical anytime.
I honestly feel based on the evidence I have seen we are less safe as a result of the bush years than we have ever been. The cost was thousands of American casualties. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi deaths. The looting of our treasury to the benefit of the wealthy and connected.
Dwight Eisenhower said it all shortly after his presidency was over.
" The single biggest threat to this nation is the continued growth of power by the Military -
Industrial Complex"
I believe the only hope for our country is term limits period. When we take away the carrot of continued programmed mediocrity maybe, just maybe things will improve.
Some "balls" might help. Not the kind that are willing to kill hundreds of thousands so Daddy will like me. The kind to make the difficult decisions to be the best country in the world again.
In a Utopian society, your agenda works. Unfortunately, our government is a huge, out of control dinosaur, bent on spending trillions of dollars we don't have on programs that don't work.
ReplyDeletePetosi WAS provided a plane to go back-n-forth, but protested b/c it had to stop & refuel ONCE betwwen DC & SF. Now she's flown in a military eqivalent of a 757. I understand the Line-of-Succession, and the Speaker of the House needs to be kept safe, but this is just another example of wasteful spending.
Right or wrong, Bush used the inteligence provided. Saddam HAD used WMD's before, gassing the Kurds and Iraq HAS harbored terrorists. This is indisputable. AND Saddam wouldn't allow UN inspections, as spelled out after Desert Storm. The truths are, there are very bad people out there that hate us for our Freedom, and there hasn't been an attack on American soil since 9/11...At what cost? A lot. Everyone said, "We'll Never Forget", but they have forgotten. The bi-partisan "peace" in D.C. lasted as long for a fart to disapate.
The religious zealots you speak of are a very small group. They're a lot less dangerous to our way of life than MoveOn.org, Michael Moore, Act Up, the "Hollywood Left", MSNBC, and liberal political action committees who rake in tens of millions of dollars. The GOP, in an attempt to seem more moderate or centrist, has LOST the Evangelical Christian vote, that put Bush 41 over the top and mostly supported "W"...
Ike also said, "History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid." A country that believes that the government is separate from US and are there to "save us" with hand-outs are the weakest link in the chain. Liberals exist b/c they believe Washington knows what's better for us than we do. They use junk science and a liberal media to get their lies across to a country of fools, where only half of the eligible citizens exercise their right to vote.
BTW, I made more money than I've ever made in my life during the Clinton era, but he was morally bankrupt, lied to Congress, impeached, and made 9/11 possible by weakening our intelligence community and military.
ReplyDeleteNot a very good trade-off upon reflection.
